In this large multi-level landscaping project, we were involved at an early stage. We digitally templated the site before building work began, as many parts of this project were cut in our masonry workshop. Our products were used throughout.
The dramatic situation of this property, in a leafy hillside, leant itself to a multi-level landscape design, with terraces and walkways overlooking the far reaching views.
On the top balcony terrace, La Roche limestone was laid. This beautiful limestone has a golden colour with intricate fossil markings.
The view from the top steps invites further exploration. To reap the benefits of a dramatic site such as this, it is necessary to install a strong framework from the outset, that enables easy access through the levels. A series of terraces with linking stairways enable easy transition between the levels.
Before the build took shape, we digitally templated the wall positions. From the data collected, we were then able to cut bespoke copings in our on-site masonry workshop, with the perfect curve on them. This makes the walls flow as the copings fit together perfectly. To ensure clarity onsite, maps were produced so that the landscapers, Land Key Developments, could follow a plan for correct placement of each coping.
All walling supplied by us is New York Cropped walling. The retaining walls are the perfect foil for the rich planting scheme. You can see how well the New York Walling tones in with the Raj Green Tumbled Paving. A half paving circle in matching Raj Tumbled Paving is incorporated into the design to create an accent in this terrace.
All steps and wall copings are made from our extra-thick paving range. Raj Green slabs with straight fettled edges in a 50mm thick format give a really robust appearance. These steps were cut to shape in our on-site masonry workshop, and delivered to site ready to fit.
All paving is our Raj Green tumbled 30mm thick. This beautiful paving has brown and green hues similar to old York stone.
Around the pond bespoke Raj Green pool copings have been used. Note the bullnosed finish to the front edge, and the sinuous curve in the pond design. Using digital templating enables designers to make any shape they want to create. Stone cutting services available in our masonry workshop then cut to design. Pebbles for the pond design were supplied by us too.
The stone in this design creates a formal and dramatic framework, over which a lush planting scheme has quickly established. This new design already sits comfortably within the existing landscape.
