This customer was looking for a low-maintenance, fresh-feeling pool surround. They liked the neutral tones of the Dune Cream porcelain that Stoneworld offer, with its cream background and subtle almond flecks. This porcelain paving adds a calm, luxury feeling to this courtyard setting.
Porcelain is a fantastic alternative to natural stone, and Stoneworld’s Dune range mimics natural stone to a very realistic standard. The almond flecks in the Dune Cream porcelain ensure that the tiles are not too reflective and are textured like natural stone. These particular tiles are sized 900 x 600 x 20mm.
Stoneworld fabricated the pool copings and corners from the porcelain tiles, in our on-site masonry workshop. We can do this with any 20mm porcelain tile, which meant that anything was possible in this project, giving the client full flexibility in terms of what they wanted to achieve.
Despite the light colour of the tile, this porcelain tile is incredibly low-maintenance. Stain and chemical resistant means that any surface dirt can be washed off with a jet wash or mild detergent. The tiles are gently textured for a non-slip finish but without crevices for dirt to hide – perfect for around a swimming pool!
The results of this project were a beautifully relaxing, sophisticated swimming pool area, which will be easy to keep clean and maintain over the years to come.
