Edge profiling

Learn how Stoneworld creates a defined finished edge to your stone designs.

Edge profiling is done to create a defined finished edge to kitchen worktops, pool copings, steps, and other edges. Increasingly we are being asked to make a smart finish to landscaped areas on exposed terrace edges.

For instance, on this project we have created a pencil edge profile on both sides of the Moleanos Limestone coping stone throughout the garden. The finished effect means there is no unsightly raw edge to the stone, whichever angle the garden is viewed from.

We can create a finished edge to your stone, using one of several profiles:

On outside projects where we have created a finished edge on either sandstone or another stone type we will apply a honed finish to the edge. On interior projects we can apply either a mirror polish or a sandblasted finish to the edge. We use our Kolb Genius milling machine in the factory to create the initial profile, before finishing by hand.
